Thank
you for notifying me of your conference, with
its theme “Why Re-Invent the Wheel?”
I can certainly see a great deal of value in finding ways to steer
a course through the perennial issues of managing organisations:
solving problems, ensuring all information and expertise needed
is present and avoiding loss of time and effort are surely relevant
to all. Your programme comprehensively discusses a variety of applications
of VM, all achieving clarity in finding the right solution to a
given problem.
On behalf of the Institute of Value Management, I congratulate
you on the construction of this event and wish you every success.

Congratulations
on the holding of the International Value Conference
organised in conjunction with the Hong Kong Institute
of Surveyors to be held on June 2 and 3, 2005
at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
in Hong Kong.
As
seen in the conference programme, your conference
organisers have done a wonderful job in providing
such an excellent technical programme for conference
attendees. It seems that the contents of your
conference programme really reflect the challenges
which all of us are facing in this global and
highly competitive business world. I believe
that the application of VM can be widely promoted
in Hong Kong and other countries around the
world through this event.
I
am sure that your interesting conference programme
will attract many value practitioners in government
and private sectors both domestic and international.
I hope that the attendees take advantage of
this conference to further improve their knowledge
and skills of VM practice. I wish you and all
the attendees a successful conference.

I
am very pleased to learn about the organisation
of the International Value Conference during
2nd & 3rd June 2005 in Hong Kong where VE
practitioners from all over the world are expected
to share their experience and learning on value
engineering.
Ever
since its inception in the late 1940s at GE,
the concept of value engineering has secured
an inimitable place in leading organisations
worldwide by establishing itself as a quick and
innovative scientific tool to add value to any
system’s working & output by crafting
the optimum mix of performance and cost. I am
sure, such an international meet on value engineering
shall further promote this unique discipline
world over and provide a wider platform for its
participants to reap several benefits from the
proceedings scheduled during the 2-day conference.
I
take this opportunity to congratulate the organisers
and to compliment all participants and also to
convey my best wishes for a fruitful interaction.
