KEYNOTE SPEAKERS


The convention will feature several keynote speakers and they are:

Dr. Jack Bacon
Jack Bacon has often been called "A New Carl Sagan." He is an internationally-known, motivational speaker, a distinguished lecturer (emeritus) of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and one of the most requested speakers in the country for topics concerning technology and the factors that shape human society. A noted futurist and a technological historian, he has written three popular books entitled "My Grandfathers' Clock," "My Stepdaughter's Watch," and "The Parallel Bang." His lectures have captivated tens of thousands of all ages in twenty-eight countries on five continents, and he has appeared on numerous radio and television broadcasts. In his daily work, he is on the management team overseeing the construction and operation of the most complicated technical project in history: the International Space Station.

 

Professor Michael Hough 
Professor Michael Hough of the University of Wollongong’s Graduate School of Business is one of the world's leading experts on quality and risk management systems. Michael’s current research and teaching interests are in new technologies and their impact on society and organisations, quality management and business excellence in the professional services sectors, particularly how to add value using project and risk management. He was recently honoured for his academic and community contributions by being made a Member of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 2006.


 

Don Ward 
Don Ward is currently Chief Operating Officer, UK Constructing Excellence in the Built Environment and is one of the leading figures in procurement in the UK and has over twenty years’ experience of best practice in the construction industry, specialising in industry change, supply chain integration and collaborative working. Over the last eleven years he has become one of the leading figures in the UK construction industry ‘reform movement’. Previous roles include Chief Executive of Collaborating for the Built Environment (known as Be), the Design Build Foundation, and the Construction Industry Board. As Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Board, he worked with Sir Michael Latham, UK industry’s representative bodies and other stakeholders to implement the 1994 “Latham Report” and latterly the 1998 “Egan Report”. Don has recently delivered keynote speeches at several international conferences on “Value Through Collaborative Working” and on how the construction industry can really deliver added value (critical success factors for partnering, collaborative working and supply chain integration).
