Professor
Shen is an active member of the Institute
of Value Management in the UK and a
founding council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management. He
has served HKIVM in a number of positions such as Secretary, Editor, Vice
President, and now President since its formation in 1995. As a Certified
Value Specialist (CVS) and professional Value Management Facilitator (List
A) certified by SAVE International and HKIVM, Professor Shen has
professionally designed and facilitated more than 30 value management /
partnering workshops for a number of large client organisations, including
the Highways Department, Civil Engineering and Development Department,
Water Supplies Department, Drainage Services Department, Housing Authority,
and Housing Society.
Professor Shen is an active researcher in the field of collaborative
working in construction (including value management and partnering),
supported by information and communication technologies. He has managed a
large number of research projects with funding over HK$15 million, and he
is the Principal Investigator of six Competitive Earmarked Research Grants
(CERG) funded by the Research Grants Council in Hong Kong. He has published
a large number of papers in both refereed journals and international
conferences. He was one of the appointed members of the Built Environment
panel in the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2006) in Hong Kong.

spent 10 years fulltime providing improvement consultancy services to Hong Kong construction and has facilitated more than
300 partnering, value and risk management workshops and improvement team
sessions. He is fully trained in facilitation techniques that include group
psychology and dynamics. He is also a trained and qualified value
management (HKIVM List A) and risk management facilitator. He is a
Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer and past Chairman of the Association
for Project Management in Hong Kong and
was responsible for the Specific Interest Groups in Partnering and Risk
Management.
Prior
to JCP, Bryan
worked with contractors George Wimpey and consultants Ove Arup as a Project
Director responsible for the management of major projects and has 30 years
experience in construction. He was also Project Controller for the HAECO
Aircraft Maintenance Facilities built in Chek Lap Kok and Tseung Kwan O.

Yau is a chartered civil engineer with over 23 years experience in
construction and project management. He is a Deputy General Manager in the
Project Management (1) Department of Henderson Land Development Company
Limited. He is currently in charge of several projects in Guangzhou,
Xi'an and Hong Kong
with a total GFA of over 3 M sq.m (or 33 M sq.ft). David is the Past
President of Hong Kong Institute of Value Management, an executive council
member of BEAM Society and a committee member of Association for Project
Management. He also sat in several steering committees in studies conducted
by Hong Kong Government's Buildings Department and Electrical and
Mechanical Services Department. Professionally, David is a Fellow of the
Institution of Civil Engineers and HK Institute of Value Management, a
Member of the HK Institution of Engineers and a Founding Member of HK
Institute of Building Information Modelling. Recently, he was awarded
"Project Manager of the Year" by RFP Magazine (2009).

Ann has a BSc
degree in Building from University
of Brighton, UK
and a MSc degree in Construction Management from City University of Hong
Kong. She has obtained PhD from the Department of Building and Real Estate,
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2007. She started her profession as
an Assistant Architect and worked for a number of different professional
firms including architectural firms, quantity surveying practice as well as
the Hong Kong Housing Authority.
Dr Yu has been
appointed as an Assistant Professor in Value Management and Construction
Management by the Department of Building and Real Estate of The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University since September 2007. She has published over 30
research papers on the broad theme of project management in leading
construction management journals and international conference proceedings.
Her research
interests include value management, construction project briefing,
requirements management, design management, strategic management, change management,
project and post-occupancy evaluations and project procurement systems.

Mr. Jacky K.H. Chung has joined the Hong Kong Institute of
Value Management (HKIVM) since 1999 and now he is the Editor and Technical
Director in the HKIVM Council. He is also the key organising committee of
the 9th International Value Management Conference (IVMC08) and the Value
Management Conference of Great China (VMCGC08) in Hong
Kong. Mr. Chung obtained his BSc degree in Construction
Economics and Management with first class honours in 1998 and MPhil degree
in 2002, from the Department of Building and Real Estate, The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University. Now, he is doing a PhD study about the
collaborative working in construction in Department of Civil Engineering,
The University of Hong Kong.
Mr.
Chung is an active researcher and his research interests include value
management (VM), partnering, value networks, collaborative working, group
support system and collaborative working. He has published overall 30
research papers in leading academic journals and international conferences.
In addition, Mr Chung has received the Best Paper Award (VM track) form the
Fourth Europe PMI Conference in 2001, the Tony Toy Memorial Award
(Distinction Award) from the HKIVM in 2002, and the CIB Guyla Sebestyén Award from the
International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and
Construction (CIB) in Netherlands in 2003 for his outstanding performance.
Professionally, Mr. Chung is a Certified Risk Planner (CRP) and an External
Consultant of the PolyU Technology & Consultancy Company Ltd. He has
professionally facilitated a large number of value management and
partnering workshops for a variety of large client organisations in both
the public and private sectors in Hong Kong.

Dr.
Leung has more than twenty years of practical/teaching experience in the
construction industry/education and has participated in a number of
prestigious construction projects in Hong Kong.
She received a Tony Toy Memorial Award (i.e. the first prize) in 2002
issued by The Hong Kong Institute of Value Management, H.K. for her PhD
thesis, an international award (Thomas D. Snodgrass Value Teaching Award)
in June 2005 issued by .the SAVE International 'The Value Society' in
U.S.A., and an academic Best Award 2008 issued by the Miles Value
Foundation in the U.S.A for her outstanding VM performance in HK and
Mainland China. Dr. Leung is also a Certified Value Specialist of the SAVE
International 'The Value Society' in USA, and a Qualified
Facilitator (list A) of HKIVM in HK. She conducted a number of VM workshops
for various large construction projects in H.K. and the U.S.A., and is the
first qualified VM trainer in HK for formal VM training workshops (modules
I and II) those recongised by the SAVE International in the U.S.A. Dr.
Leung has also attracted over HK$ 10 million as Investigator in
professional and research grants including three CERG projects and some
professional governmental projects. Over hundred refereed journal and
conference papers in construction engineering and management have been
published or accepted for publishing.

experienced Facilitator in Value Management, Risk Management and Partnering
with an astute understanding of the cross-cultural working environment in Hong Kong. His interest in leveraging the knowledge
and wisdom of people was formulated during his earlier working life in the
construction industry. KH has worked in various positions in Civil and
Foundation Engineering for nearly 30 years, successfully managed more than
50 construction projects. He still holds the record of installing the
deepest 2.5m diameter bored pile in Hong Kong
at 155m. KH’s
extensive practical experience has qualified him to provide expert advice
on engineering issues for arbitration and court cases particularly for
piling and foundation projects.

Dr.
Timmy S.C. Fan has joined the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management
(HKIVM) since 2009 and now he is the Assistant Technical Officer in the
HKIVM Council. Dr. FAN obtained his BEng degree in Civil Engineering in
2003, from the Department of Civil Engineering, TsingHua University.
He just received his PhD degree about value management in construction
projects from Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
in 2009. Now he has been appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at Department
of BRE, the Hong Kong
Polytechnic University.
His research interests include group decision support system, and value
management. He has published more than 15 research papers in refereed
journals and international conferences.
